I will continue to work to level the playing field for all of Anchorage’s residents. That means continued work on affordable and expanded housing opportunities, investments in education and upgraded infrastructure. Whether talking about putting all Assembly documents into a searchable format or passing the Open Checkbook, I am committed to open and transparent government that works for everyone.
I will continue to work to house the homeless population that has languished on our streets, in our greenspaces, and concentrated into mass shelters for years. Housing ends homelessness. We can end functional homelessness and we do it by continuing to develop new housing opportunities across the city.
Whether it is working with the Fairview Community Council and their efforts to reconnect their neighborhood, with South Addition to ensure expansion of completed streets, or with advocates fighting to create the first protected bike lane in Anchorage; I will always seek to use my role on the Assembly to reinforce those who are doing the work of building and strengthening our community.
